“The stakes are impossibly high, the cost of failure all too easily measured in the sick, the dead, and the children who are left behind.” – Stephen Lewis
UBUNTU Niagara is a community-based organization/initiative, run by a committee of organizers [MORE].
Our objectives include:
- eradicate HIV/AIDS in sub-Saharan Africa;
- raise funds in support of the Stephen Lewis Foundation [LINK];
- build awareness and understanding in our communities through annual World AIDS Days;
- gather local artists together in a spirit of compassion, solidarity, and shared humanity;
- bring the spirit of ‘ubuntu’.
UBUNTU Niagara produces the annual World AIDS Day Event in support of dignity, humanity, and global compassion. All proceeds go to the Stephen Lewis Foundation [LINK] and its humanitarian work assisting communities affected by HIV/AIDS in sub-Saharan Africa. UBUNTU Niagara operates entirely without paid staff, and is driven by community participation, generosity, and collaboration.
